This is a self sustaining ecosystem. The water condensates each day, and then "rains" down into the soil, draining through to the rocks below. As the plants grow to the edges, they get too wet and rot, breaking down and adding nutrients to the soil— plants are cannibals! I've not opened this since it was made in December.
