White Waratah (Agastachys odorata) is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing to 1–3m in height. The leaves are bright green with an almost leathery, thick texture. Masses of white-to-creamy yellow flowers are produced in erect flower spikes and look like fluffy candles. The peak flowering times are during the early Summer months. It is endemic to Tasmania where it is found in scrub, wet sclerophyll-eucalypt forest, temperate rainforest and occasionally in the alpine regions.
