This paper presents an integrated proposal for the establishment of a new engineering engineering department within the departments of the faculties of engineering at the Libyan universities to teach "Renewable Energy Engineering" with the aim of graduating specialized engineers in the three fields available in Libya namely solar, wind and biomass energy, Solar Energy Engineering. In the introduction to the paper, reference is made to the importance of developing higher education in general and engineering education, especially by opening up new horizons for university education and scientific research in one of the most important branches of engineering and technical knowledge related to energy efficiency in general and energy production from renewable sources in particular. The aim was to present the basic idea of the proposal to establish the Renewable Energy Engineering Department as one of the necessary foundations for the current global trend towards renewable sources of energy through the development of higher education in its various fields, which emphasizes the need to invest its enormous potential in Libya through high scientific preparation and It aims at producing engineering competencies for design, operation and maintenance, creating the appropriate scientific environment for conducting research and studies, providing scientific advice and transferring technology, and providing the opportunity for innovation and excellence in the field of renewable energies. Program for undergraduate study performed according to several stages, including courses in the humanities, and basic and engineering sciences, as well as specialized courses in renewable energies and specialized people such as solar thermal and PV and wind power and biomass as well as energy efficiency. As in any engineering department, students in the Renewable Energy Engineering Department will have to successfully pass all compulsory and elective courses. Then, at the conclusion of their studies, in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, An engineering project to graduate on one of the renewable energy systems he studied and within the division that he specializes in and under the supervision of a specialized professor. In this context, the paper presented samples of the list of proposed scientific subjects, their chronological and substantive sequence, the distribution of their units, and the presentation of the curriculum, which took into consideration the student's scientific achievement, which qualifies him to work as an engineer in the field of renewable energies or to pursue his studies. High later as a "researcher" if he is an outstanding student. In conclusion, especially after the opening of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering at the Faculty of Energy and Mining Engineering at the University of Sabha, the paper called upon all researchers and those responsible for the development of higher education, as well as for professors interested in renewable energies, to study this project for adoption. And improve it for the development of higher education and to raise the standard of living and the establishment of a clean environment in Libya in line with the global trend towards sustainable development.
