Cities in films #113: SACRAMENTO
This movie opens with a Joan Didion quote about the town, which is later disparagingly described by the title character as’ the Mid-West of California’. It’s a place which not only hosts, but plays a central thematic role in the story, as we explore her ambivalence toward the environment (both physical and social) that has shaped the first 18 years of her life.
