In Jurassic world when the pterodactyl picked up and threw down the baby triceratops I saw the exact moment I’d risk my life to save a baby dinosaur and try to fight a full fucking grown pterodactyl

If Jurassic World was real and there wasn’t a vicious genetically engineered dinosaur trying to kill everybody, I would 100% sit my ass in that baby Dino petting area and never leave

I love that little *tap tap* the raptor claws make when they’re impatient. Just imagine them waiting in line at the DMV or something with that tapping claw and they’re like, “I swear to god if this line doesn’t move I’m gonna eAT SOMEONE.”

“Nothing in Jurassic World is natural. We have always filled the gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if their genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different.” -Henry Wu, Jurassic World 2015.

senashenta:

This was maybe the most important line in the movie for me. There’s been a ton of debate about the scientific accuracy of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World because of all the leaps and bounds we’ve made in the field of Paleontology over the twenty years since the original Jurassic Park aired.

A lot of people have been complaining that, knowing what we now do, the dinosaurs in Jurassic World should have been made more accurate to what their real-life counterparts might/would have been. The Raptors should have been smaller, many of the dinosaurs should have had feathers, they should have been more colorful, etc. etc. etc.

It’s important to remember that the people behind Jurassic World had to think about movie continuity as well. They couldn’t just make the dinosaurs (especially the Raptors and the T-Rex since they’re literally iconic at this point) completely different or it would make little sense within the universe of the franchise. You have to put aside some of the newer science for the sake of cinema, which is completely understandable.

That’s why this line was so important. It’s just ten seconds out of the movie, but it literally explains all of the scientific inaccuracies as far as the dinosaurs are concerned; none of the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park world/franchise are purebred and they never have been. They have always carried bits of DNA from other species, this was explained in the very first film and still holds true–so of course they’re not exactly like their ancestors would have been, millions of years ago.
