DAA — Qwydion wasn't kidding

I've been rewatching Dragon Age Absolution for funsies while working on commissions and got distracted XD
Qwydion wasn't kidding when she said that list out loud lmao

But I do wonder why it was written in elven if she lied saying her master gave her the list to get those items?
Also "kw"? Short for Quwydion, maybe? OR I got the letters wrong?

omg i so agree with you that anders did not /want/ to die like i know why ppl have the interpretation that near the end he is suicidal, but i really do see him as very fundamentally that brash freedom loving soul. He would love to enjoy a world where mages arent imprisoned but he knows he just upended the immediate world of hawke and their friends, and he lets hawke take justice into their own hands too

sha-brytols answered:

i DO think he was suicidal, i just also think he wanted to live. this is the mental illness site you all know what i mean. the desire to die but not Die. not to get depressing but i mean it’s like that phenomenon with people who somehow survived jumping off the golden gate bridge often say they regretted it the second their feet left the ground. i think for anders it was like. he didn’t think he deserved to live, nor did he think there was a point to living. but there is like that anticipation when hawke is deciding where he hopes they understand. that they spare him. if they tell him to fight with them (as a mage supporter) he’s like, visibly shocked, but noticeably happy. likewise, choosing to kill him has that moment where he closes his eyes and very very resignedly says “i know.”

i remember once reading something that went about like "when people want to die, they don't want to be dead, they want an -out-" and it stuck with me

yeah 💔
