Schmutzie’s October 2024 Playlist

October 2024’s playlist is out on 8 platforms:

Apple Music Spotify YouTube Music (64 of 67 songs) Tidal Deezer Amazon Music (61 of 67 songs) Last.fm (64 of 67 songs) Qobuz (62 of 67 songs)

49% of the songs on this playlist are from 2024. The complete playlist is about 3 hours and 37 minutes long and has 67 songs across 7 decades and 22 genres: alternative, folk, classical, gospel, punk, singer/songwriter, rock, country, indie pop, ambient, honky tonk, pop, soundtrack, jazz, Brazilian, R&B/soul, country blues, hip-hop/rap, reggae, Americana, new age, and indie rock.

The songs are in reverse order by year and then in alphabetical order by artist within each year. It’s a bit of an historical sampler.

ALSO, the video below is for Briar’s “It Isn’t What It Used to Be,” because I am so damn chuffed that she is Amanda Magee’s child. I have known Amanda since back in the old blogging days, and it’s cool to see her kid launch so gorgeously into the adult world. Watching Amanda vibrate with joy while she played it in her car was priceless.
