Area codes 615 and 629

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Area code 615 and 629 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan. It covers central Tennessee, including cities like Nashville, its state capital, Murfreesboro, and Franklin. Area code 615 was established in 1954 when it was split from area code 901. Over time, as the population and demand for phone numbers increased, area code 615 was split again to create area code 931 in 1997 and then overlaid by 629 in 2015.[1]
