Area codes 801 and 385

Area code 801 is a telephone area code in the state of Utah. It covers a significant portion of the state, including the cities of Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, and their surrounding areas. Area code 801 was one of the original area codes established in 1947 as part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It was split by area code 435 as an enclave area code, and then overlaid by 385 on June 1, 2008.
