Robert Hammerstiel
Robert Hammerstiel (18 February 1933 – 23 November 2020) was an Austrian painter and engraver. He was also an honorary member of the Vojvodinian Academy of Sciences and Art. He wrote many books about wood carvings. He was born in Vršac, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Many of his works were seen in New York City, Vienna, Cairo and Brussels.
In 1998, he was honored with the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art.[1]
Hammerstiel died on 23 November 2020 at the age of 87.[2]
