Sunan Abu Dawood

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sunan Abu Dawood (Arabic: سُنَنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ) is one of the Kutub al-Sittah (six major hadith collections).[1] It was collected by Abu Dawood.[2] Sunnis regard this collection as fourth in strength of their six major hadith collections.[3]

Abu Dawud collected 500,000 hadith, but included only 4,800 in this collection. It took Abu Dawood 20 years to collect the hadiths.[4]
