what if you and your sister had the same tutors, same arms instructor, same conversations with your mother regarding politics and strategies and the million terrible choices a ruler must make. but all of them, from your nursery governess to your fencing coach to your mother herself, knew that she was real and you– weren’t. not yet. only if the unthinkable happened. what if you were a walking reminder that she wasn’t invincible. what if you were tragedy’s page, carrying its train, walking soft in the shadow of all of their hopes that you would never be needed.
Someone hit me with their car and I got isekai’d to a world that’s really similar to my old one except in this one my collarbone is mysteriously broken
how i’m handling my students using AI to write papers:
-don’t accuse them on using AI from the get-go and instead ask them to informally define all the huge words that they used in their essay which i know they don’t know the meaning of
-ask to see their original file where they “wrote” the essay. go to version history to see if it was just copy and pasted and then just edited a bit. i keep an eye out for the shit like “certainly! here’s an essay about….”
-if they own up to it, they can re-do the assignment for a higher grade even if there will be an automatic penalty. if they don’t, i process it like plagiarism and get my supervisor involved.
And this is much better than the immediate accusations. Some students have a good vocabulary. Stop accusing them of faking their essays without proof, and this is a good way to check.

I have a theory that somewhere back up the line gandalf fucked a took. This sounds like complete crack but hear me out. The tooks are rumored to have “fairy blood” which in LOTR terms means either elves or maia. There is an ancestor who’s unusually tall and many of them are noted to live unusually long lives unless they meet with illness or injury, same as the numenorians did. They don’t hve extra pointy ears and elves don’t have a special interest in the line. But who DOES have a special interest in looking after tooks (and bilbo who is a took on his mother’s side/his adopted son frodo)? Gandalf. That dude is ALWAYS fussing over some silly little guy. He regularly brought the old took birthday presents.
Back in the day some bold hobbitess decided to climb that old man and ever since then gandalf has been looking after his line of tiny crazy bastards and no one will convince me otherwise.
Gandalf’s attitude towards Pippin just took on a whole new layer.
hot take possibly? but i actually think it’s okay for things to be marketed for adults. it’s literally okay if things aren’t suitable for children. i feel like we are losing the plot
