8K views · 920 reactions | 🇻🇳✨ Bo Luc Lac (Vietnamese Shaking Beef) and it’s better than takeout! 🧾 Recipe below, or DM me “Shaking Beef” for full detailed recipe! Did you know that one of the priciest and most popular dishes to order at a Vietnamese restaurant is surprisingly easy and much cheaper to make at home? Bo Luc Lac is all about the perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, and its name comes from a unique cooking technique to sear the beef evenly! 🥩🔄 Bo Luc Lac, or Shaking Beef, has roots in French colonial Vietnam. The name “shaking beef” comes from the way the beef is shaken in the pan to achieve an even sear. 📝📒 Tip: Partially freeze your beef for an hour or so until it hardens and use a sharp knife to cut the cubes. Ingredients: 2 cuts of boneless ribeye steaks (trim fat) Marinade: Black pepper Minced garlic My all purpose stir fry sauce (DM me for recipe) For Cooking: Few tbsp of neutral-flavor oil 1/4 red onion, sliced 1/4 green pepper sliced 1 1/2 tbsp butter Instructions: 👨‍🍳 Marinate Beef: Cut steak into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle black pepper and garlic powder, & mix marinade ingredients and coat beef. Marinate for 30 minutes. ⏲️Cook Beef: Heat oil in pan until smoking. Add beef and let sit for 5 seconds, then shake to sear evenly. Remove beef after partially charred but not cooked through. 🥒Add Veggies: Add onions, green pepper (or scallions), butter, and more stir fry sauce. Cook until your desired beef doneness. PS- I like my bo luc lac medium rare! 🍅 Serve with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, or watercress. Lime & Pepper dipping sauce: 1 tsp sea salt or kosher salt 2 tsp black pepper Pinch chili flakes Juice of 1 or 2 wedges of lime to taste. #VietnameseFood #ShakingBeef #vietnameserecipes #HomeCooking #vietnamesefood #vietnamese #vietnamesecuisine #shakingbeef | Philippe Trinh I Yummy Asian Eats

68K views · 26K reactions | These saucy Asian inspired meatballs are becoming a fav, especially with mashed potatoes🙂‍↕️ Recipe (serves around 5 people): Meatballs 1.0 kg ground beef 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped 2 tsp salt (or to your taste preference) 1 ½ tsp black pepper 2 tsp all-spice 1 ½ tsp chilli flakes 1 tbsp oregano 2 tsp ginger powder 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp garlic powder In a medium bowl, mix all the above ingredients together by hand to make your meatball mixture. Feel free to adjust the spices and quantities to your taste preference. Form into about 50 mini balls, and shallow fry in 3 tbsp of vegetable oil until golden on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside. you may need to do multiple batches, depending on the size of your pan. Optional: in the same pan sauté 3 bell peppers, chopped into 1 inch squares. You can cook these as long or as little as you want depending on how soft or crunchy you prefer them. Sauce (measure as your heart desires) Soy sauce Ketchup Sesame oil Sriracha Hoisin sauce Garlic chilli paste White vinegar Scallion, sliced Garlic, chopped Hot water to loosen the mixture Mix the above ingredients together to make your sauce. Add the meatballs back into the pan with the sautéed bell peppers (if using them), then add the sauce into the same pan and let the mixture cook for 10-15 minutes covered. Then uncover, increase the heat, and cook until sauce thickens, is sticky, and coats the meatballs. Top with chopped scallions and sesame seeds then enjoy with a plate of mashed potatoes (or whatever you wish!). #recipe #food #foodie #dinner #foodinspo #dinnerinspo #dinnerideas #cook #cooking #quickrecipe #easyrecipe | Dania’s Cuisine | Dania Arwini | daniascuisine · Original audio

Before we get into it, I’m sure you’re going to want to call this recipe one of many things including, jaew some, crying tiger, waterfall/nam tok, or larb. While it’s very similar, there are things that make it different including the way the veggies are prepare, or the addition/subtraction of certain ingredients. Yes, you can add rice powder, or mint or really whatever you want and you can call it whatever you want too. Every Southeast Asian country has their own variation of this dish, and for me this is close to a crack sauce/herb salad. It’s my absolute favorite way to eat steak, and I’m positive it’ll be yours too. Plus steak and rice is the most elite pairing and you can @ me on that one!
