It’s the dreaded question, “What did I miss while I was out?” For years, I was guilty of simply excusing assignments because I couldn’t keep up with the missing and absent work. But, I realized there were valuable assignments students were missing out on (or that they really needed to complete, like exams). After a while, I found a system to organize student absent work that wasn’t overwhelming or chaotic. Students come in, grab what they need, complete it and turn it in! Managing it is so…

Did I miss anything while I was out? What did we do in class yesterday? Do I owe anything from when I was absent? 😵‍💫 It can be a lot. Especially when multiple students were absent. Trying to remember all of this information is taxing. That's why I love my system for organizing absent work. It put the responsibility on the student to gather their work, and everything they need to know about what they missed is ready and waiting for them.
