The best exercises for your glutes all involve hip extension and full range of motion (ROM). These are just some of the exercises I incorporate into my glute-focused routine for the best results! They are a mixture of isolated moves with a splash of compound moves (3rd exercise). So unless you are NOT trying to grow a 🍑, I suggest staying away from this routine! 😉

Circuit One:
- 15 Weighted Cable Side Squat per side 
- 15 Straight Leg Side Kick per side

Please don’t get me wrong once upon a time like many coaches I am sure I did these 🫣

Unlike movement like RDLS, this exercise doesn’t really challenge you much in the stretched position. 

So, does that mean it works the glute max really intensely at the top, similar to a hip thrust where you’re extending your hips? 

No 👀

And what about the resistance from the rope or pulley? It’s there, but your body mainly acts as a counterbalance to keep you from tipping backward, so you’re not fully loading the glutes as the primary focus.

A Attach a rope handle to the low pulley of a cable machine. Grab an end of the rope in each hand and stand with your back to the weight stack. Bend at your hips and knees and lower your torso until it's at about a 45-degree angle to the floor. B Thrust your hips forward, squeeze your glutes, and raise your torso back to the starting position. That's one rep. Note: Your arms should stay straight throughout the entire movement.
