Archway to Middle Temple Lane, Temple. At the far end is The Strand and the Royal Courts of Justice. Originally 13th C training schools for lawyers, Middle Temple is one of the four inns of court (the others are Lincoln's Inn, Grays Inn and Inner Temple). The inns are now professional associations for barristers who have their chambers in this area. Temple takes its name from the Knights Templar who once occupied the site.
