A theatre landmark in a great production! Tennessee Williams' 'The Glass Menagerie' with Seana McKenna as Amanda Wingfield and Sara Topham as Laura W., Stratford Festival, 2006. Mixed reviews but loved it. Also seen at Soulpepper, 2011 - great! And at Tarragon, Toronto, 1997, with Martha Henry.

These glass animal figurines are a central symbol to The Glass Menagerie, and represent not only how Laura escaped from reality, but also the state of the Wingfield family with their numerous conflicts. The initial creator has the figurines displayed as if they are in an art gallery, and placed them on a stage. From this perspective, the image is perfect for the play since Tom, the narrator, sets the stage for the audience to view his life.

The production stars multiple Tony and Emmy Award-winner Cherry Jones as Amanda Wingfield, film and stage star Zachary Quinto as Tom, two-time Tony-nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger as Laura, and Brian J. Smith as Jim, the Gentleman Caller.
