Looe is in south-east Cornwall, and is an ancient town over 1,000 years old which straddles the Looe River. East Looe has numerous narrow streets and lanes, in which there are a number of ancient buildings. The Smugglers Cott is one of the oldest, dating from 1430, and lies between Middle Market Street and Higher Market Street (seen here) in the heart of the old town. Timbers from a wrecked Spanish galleon from the Armada were subsequently used to help re-structure the interior.
