Kristen Bos | Doctor of Physical Therapy on Instagram: "Stubborn one sided neck tension?? 😣 🔥

LET’S FIX THAT 👏🏻

If you experience this discomfort it’s highly likely that the position of your ribcage is connected to this issue!

The ribcage provides the base for our head to sit on, and so many muscles that attach to the neck/head start at the ribcage. So the positioning of the ribcage has a direct effect on the load placed on our necks throughout the day.

In this exercise we are focusing on lengthening and relaxing the muscles that are pulling on your neck WHILE addressing the weakness that is causing your ribcage to flare on that side for longer lasting relief 👏🏻 💆‍♀️

Kristen Bos | Doctor of Physical Therapy on Instagram: "Stubborn tension at the base of your head/skull?? 🔥 Let’s fix that! 👏🏻 I often find this pain due to tightness in a muscle in the neck called the upper trapezius. This results in the pulling, tension and discomfort you are feeling in your neck and head. The goals of this exercise from the postural restoration institute are to help you expand into this muscle and give that muscle a break. Trust me it’s a great one that I use often 👏🏻 💆‍♀️!
