Wadham College, including its chapel, dates from 1610 when it was founded by Dorothy Wadham with money left by her late husband. The ceremonial door of the chapel (pictured) opens into the Front Quad, though the chapel is usually reached through another door. It is thought that the chapel was the first religious building in England to regain its stained glass and statuary following the reformation. The statues feature Dorothy Wadham and her husband Nicholas, with King James I above.
