what is equal parts sad and mildly enraging and oddly hilarious 2 me is sometimes a character gets flanderized so hard into a specific two dimensional fanon personality that people start coming up with headcanons that, while they are entirely consistent with the fanon version of said character, are literally demonstrably false because the character in question has a directly parallel experience or interaction within canon and it just so happens that this exact scenario happens to be where all the long forgotten nuances of their personality come out to play and they would in fact respond in the complete opposite way. just a really really funny example of the whole "nice interpretation of this character, just wondering when was the last time you interacted with the source material" phenomenon
