The fact that you can’t raise taxes on billionaires even slightly without them pouring money into fascist political movements is, of itself, evidence that billionaires as a class shouldn’t be allowed to exist in the first place.
I’d just like to point out that every single thing that has happened in the 6 years since I created this post has only reinscribed its absolute moral correctness in my mind.
people get so mad when you make decisions and live your life based on your own personal wellbeing and happiness rather than conforming to societal/cultural expectations of how things ‘should be’

you know as a European (the country, anyone who isn’t from the US) I see so many unstable messy queer relationships and i weep because there is not one or more firearms involved.
I just know that having a weapon that can immediately kill or irreversibly maim someone with the pull of a trigger would massively de-escalate all of my friends living situations.
I would never feel safer than hanging out with someone’s twitchy ex girlfriend who owns a glock and spends her time planning for a civil war.
