A5 by T H i R D W A V E 3 published on 2025-03-27T20:51:21Z WARNING: THIS IS A BOOTLEG TAPE/COMPILATION, OF LIL UGLY MANE'S LOST TRACK'S HE WOULD PLAY ON LIVESTREAMS. NOT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE. THIS IS OFFICIAL RAW, RARE, & REAL MUSIC. Just like those other releases, this bootleg is a trove of unreleased stuff from LUM's back catalog, and it's just as eclectic: hip-hop, metal, electronic, unclassifiable. The biggest difference being that this was taken from an Instagram livestream, so there's actually the occasional commentary from Travis, saying things like "This is super old" or "We're going deeper and deeper into the files now" or "My computer is so fucking slow." The beginning is mainly hip-hop, with unreleased stuff from Secret Circle and The Legacy, plus some real old solo tracks in a boom bap style. Later on is far more eclectic, with a track that sounds right out of James Ferraro's early era. As with Third Side of Tape, there are also some black metal and electronic tracks here, as well as a quasi-cover of Return to Innocence cut with cartoon sound effects (which is also featured on his GKRL album). It goes back to mostly hip-hop, with some baffling rap features and topics. Plus, there's also a pop song with Travis proudly declaring "I'm the queen of the world." Real gay hours, as he puts it. It might be a weird comparison, but LUM is really like a modern-day Arthur Russell: excelling in a wide variety of music styles, and with a seemingly never endless library of unreleased music. And even his bottom-of-the-barrel stuff manages to be ahead of the curve and what only other musicians can hope to achieve.
