Name
[edit]- Monocrepidius Eschscholtz, 1829
Synonyms
[edit]- Conoderus Eschscholtz, 1829
- NOTE: Under the ICZN, the First Reviser (Art. 24.2) who selected between Monocrepidius Eschscholtz, 1829 vs. Conoderus Eschscholtz, 1829 was Germar (1839: 223), who selected the former genus name, rendering Conoderus an invalid junior synonym; see Sánchez-Ruiz (1996: 184).
- Silene Broun, 1893
- Original status: valid genus
- Gender: feminine
- Type species: Silene brunnea Broun, 1893
- Fixation: monotypy
- Authority for synonymy: Calder, 1996: 79 ('Syn. nov.')
- NOTE: it is hard to know why Maddison in Macfarlane et al. (2010: 421) listed Silene as a valid genus, endemic to New Zealand. The fact that he did so without comment suggests that it may simply be an error.
