We report a 49-year-old woman who had referred to another hospital with the complaint of an erythematous and pruritic plaque on the vulva for 6 months. An incisional biopsy had been taken and pathological result was reported as invasive SCC. In her past medical history, there was a history of total thyroidectomy due to follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma two years ago. The patient had been received radioactive iodine for 3 times, however her Iodine isotope scans were still positive. Then she was visited at our hospital for definite treatment. According to the pathologic report she underwent vulvectomy with inguinal lymph node dissection. Histological examination revealed primary invasive Paget disease of the vulva and there was one inguinal lymph node involvement. Second vision of the initial incisional biopsy was also compatible with primary in...

They were randomly allocated to receive a single dose of lidocaine hydrochloride 2% or injectable sodium chloride 0.9% paracervical block, and then, cervical biopsy was done. The pain score was asked and intra-procedural and 5-minutes post-procedural in both groups, using the VAS tool. Also, patients' satisfaction after the procedure and complications were recorded. Results: Totally, 74 patients (37 in each groups) were enrolled, with the mean±SD age of 35.91±8.10 years. The mean±SD of pain score intra-procedural was statistically higher in patients in the treatment group (0.92±1.53 vs. 2.73±2.34, P<0.001), as well the pain sco...

One of the treatment methods for cervical cancer is pre-surgery neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT), which is performed to reduce the size of the tumor, facilitate the surgical process, and improve the survival of patients with this cancer. The present study is a systematic review conducted by searching the databases of Elsevier, PubMed Springer, and Wiley, and with the keywords of Cervix cancer, Adenocarcinoma, Adenosquamous carcinoma, and Neoadjuvant chemotherapy; studies conducted between 1998-2020 were reviewed. Out of a total of 1018 articles, 15 articles were selected for further review, considering the inclusion/exclusion criteria. The results showed that the use of NACT improved the patient's physical condition, reduced tumor size, reduced metastasis, facilitated surgery, and improved survival; also, it was associated with successful delivery without side effects i...

The disease affects the human immune system. The function of the body's organs under the influence of this disease loses its main function. Studies have shown that people with cancer are at higher risk of dying from Coronavirus. Because of the outbreak, wide clinical spectrum, pathogenesis of infection in Coronavirus, recognition and evaluation of this virus in populations with a risk factor for cancer is important. Many women develop chronic diseases such as cancer throughout their lives. Examining and recognizing Coronavirus in the women with cancer can increase our awareness of the disease. In this article, considering Coronavirus, we discuss the function of the immune system in cancer and corona, the concepts related to the topic, and the known solutions with an emphasis on cancer.

In fact, it can occur following gestational events such as induced or spontaneous abortion, ectopic pregnancy, and term pregnancy. In this study, we present the case of a patient with ectopic pregnancy who was treated with a single dose of methotrexate (MTX). The maximum titer of beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (BHCG) was 402. Work up of occult metastatic GTT was carried out following MTX therapy, due to elevated BHCG titer. In the positron emission tomography (PET) scan, a 17-mm lesion was detected in the right lung and treated via thoracotomy resection and adjuvant chemotherapy. Within an 18-month follow up, the patient did not reveal any symptoms and the BHCG titer level did not increase. Findings of this study revealed that after MTX therapy for ectopic pregnancy patients need to be followed up. Moreover, lack of BHCG titer decline, even in low tittering after treatment with MTX, can be r...

Classic manifestation of it is in the form of an abdominal lump distinct from uterus. Contributing to the formation of the tumor are the traumas arising from pregnancy including previous cesarean-induced scars. Our case, a 29-year-old woman with a medical history of cesarean section, had been reported with the pregnancy age of 8 weeks and 3 days and heterogenic hypoechoic tumor the size of 28×36mm with a rather distinct sidelines in the soft tissue at the left side of the scar with the possibility of endometriosis but the size amounted to 62×38mm at the time of elective cesarean section. Following cesarean and removal of the fetus, the tumor being separated from the uterus and located in the abdominal wall, was taken out that was then pathologically diagnosed as desmoids tumor.

Materials and Methods: This retrospective cohort study reviewed the medical records of 272 patients with the definitive diagnosis of GTN referring to Imam Khomeini hospital in Tehran during 2007-2017. Results: The mean age of participants was 29.19 ± 7.46 years. The abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) was the most common clinical manifestation in 64.3% of patients. Regarding the risk scoring condition according to the World Health Organization criteria, 77.6%, 9.1%, and 13.3% were categorized as low-, intermediate-, and high-risk cases. Single therapy with methotrexate was used in 22.8% of patients and actinomycin-D was planned for 42.3% whereas 11.0% and 1.5% were considered for treatment with the EMA-CO (Etoposide, methotrexate, actinomycin D, cyclophosphamide, vincristine) and EMA-EP (Etoposide methotrexate and acti...

Fifty-nine VVC patients who were diagnosed based on their history, physical examination, and culture of vaginal discharge were initially treated by a single dose of 150 mg fluconazole. According to the table of random numbers, the sample was divided into two groups. The patients from one group took probiotics, while those from the other group took a placebo, with all of them being continuously monitored for 6 months. The patients complaining of vaginal candidiasis symptoms, such as burning, pruritus, and a vaginal (curd-like) discharge, were examined and the discharge was cultured for candida. The positive cultures were considered to be recurring for the patients in each group. Thirty-one cases from the placebo group and 28 cases from the probiotic group were carefully observed. In total, the 6-month recurrence in the control group was eleven (35.5 %) and in the research group was two (7.2 %). The results from Fisher&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;s exact test for the value p = 0.01 and OR 0.14 95 % CI (0.028-0.7) showed significant recurrence in the placebo group. The findings demonstrated that taking probiotics withazole antifungal drugs could be highly effective in treating VVC, resulting in a lower recurrence rate as well.
