About

Hiya.

I’ve been knitting for about 12 years now, though I’ve been filling a lot more of my time with knitting lately than at the start.

You can check out my ravelry (has most of my finished projects) here.

I don’t really mix tumblr & other socials, but if you want to see my other blogs check out the sidebar or blog description. (The gaming blog has been hibernating…)

I’m also teaching myself dyeing, so I’ll include some of those experiments here and there.

2024 projects in review - a look at all I knit this year with a ranking system

If you knit, crochet or play with yarn, you may have seen this post for UK heritage breeds and thought - but what if I'm in the US and want to help?

Good news! The Livestock Conservancy has a program - Shave 'em to Save 'em - which encourages the conservation of and use of wool from heritage and rare breeds in the US. The program itself is for US participants, but some of the mills involved probably ship elsewhere.

Almost time to start sewing these together!

Still not sure what seaming technique to use. I was planning to use mattress stitch because a) it seems the strongest and b) I hate crocheting. But I feel like it would look better if each square had a border around it, so I might do some more experiments.

This is just the beginning of the blanket. I plan to keep adding squares to it until I feel like it's big enough.

(Yes I'm aware that they're not all the same size. I had to switch needles partway through. I'm fine with it.)

okay last mittens for a while. maybe. i made another pair of the goose mittens because the first pair was fun! this time i have a more intentional pattern than the random dither from the previous ones, trying to imitate feathers

Throwback Thursday

Stashbustin’ Slips

These are very cozy slippers and helped me stashbust at least 2 bits of yarn I wasn’t sure what to do with.

Unfortunately, (at least for my partner and me) we wore through the soles very fast. I would consider eventually investing in leather soles to improve the longevity, and hope to get around to mending them in the meantime, but my partner and I ultimately decided to purchase hard-soled slippers in the mean time.
