interesting soulmate au prompts

i haven’t gathered my 30th special post yet (songs that inspire friends to lovers) so i’m posting this as the 30th reward instead since i’ve had it in my drafts for a while. friends to lovers songs will be the 40th special reward!

some of these will be different variations of prompts that i’ve seen, and other will be completely my own idea. i hope you enjoy!

  • whenever your soulmate gets physically injured, you get those same injuries, and when they’re self-inflicted, flowers grow over the wounds on you but not on them. you wake up one morning covered in flowers.
  • before you meet your soulmate the world is extremely cold and you almost have an inability to feel warmth, but when you meet them, it feels like you’re ten feet from the sun.
  • alternatively, everything you’ve ever felt was cold, but when you’re near your soulmate it gets warm. its like one huge hot-and-cold guessing game.
  • whenever you’re around your soulmate, you start hearing their thoughts in your head and vice versa. however, if you’re around a lot of people, it will be difficult to tell who it is because you’re unable to hear the names they think about.
  • after meeting your soulmate, there’s a flash of blinding light, and then you two find yourselves physically bonded together by handcuffs. your handcuffs only unlock when you two finally fall in love.
  • you feel a tugging sensation inside whenever you meet your soulmate, and after that your hearts are connected. this means you feel each other’s heartbreak, emotional and physical pain, and, in the event that your soulmate’s heart stops beating, so does yours.
  • everyone is born with the face of what their soulmate looked like in their past life. most people aren’t able to remember what they looked like during those past lives, but you remember and even have a picture of them, so now you’re on the hunt to find your old face.
  • every pair of soulmates has a hidden inside joke, something that they both know and no one else does. to find out if someone is that special person, you say whatever absurd joke has been inside your mind, and if they laugh, then that’s the one.
  • each night you and your soulmate dream of meeting one another in many different ways. it turns out that these are memories from your past lives together.
  • a song is assigned to every pair of soulmates and is often stuck inside both of your heads. your song is one you’ve never heard before, until it’s blaring on the car radio one early morning.
