Chances that my blog will become very disorganized is high, so this is more for me than anyone else. If it helps anyone else that is here that’s good too.
(It’s long so I put it under the read more and quick tl;dr a simple rundown of how I tag stuff to make sure I keep myself consistent).

I’m just giggling because this is Mimi’s and Lilimon’s episode and it opens on a cactus delivery truck representing Togemon. It has to be intentional because that is so random otherwise.
Tokyo is a clean city (the largest and also probably one of the cleanest I’ve been to personally), but it is still a giant metropolis. So yeah, makes sense.

(Give photos to the kids if you don’t want any of them and they do. I have pictures from my parents’ wedding. It’s a little weird to maybe but I like them. Plus kids have a right to embarrassing baby photos so they do not spread. To anyone really, but if parents are divorced you have to get them from two people)

I am curious of where they got the Bakemon disguises on such short notice. They are relatively simple, so it won’t be too hard to make. Since Bakemon are shown to be solid, why do I feel the more logical answer though is stripping a couple cloaks from their knocked out bodies?
I’m happy Sora remembered how to deal with the Bakemon herself.

I think for the Perfect evolutions, Lilimon’s has to be my favorite. Garudamon is a close second though.

I love Tailmon’s reactions to her abuse being on the subtle side (at this point in her life). “These are the scars I’ve gotten. I still work for and am loyal to the guy because I have nothing better in life right now, but that’s fine.” No, you should escape it, now. Do better for yourself. Wizarmon tries his best to show that she deserves the kindness she gave to him and knows Tailmon has an obtainable way to escape by accepting the facts she knows inside herself. That’s not easy though and Tailmon is aggro at first because of it.
It must be hard not to read someone’s mind if that is just instinctual, but also, what?

Wizarmon clearly is loyal to Tailmon exclusively. From what I can gather from PicoDevimon’s comments a lot of Digimon are her recruits, and I’m wondering how she found them all? lol. Wizarmon is out of loyalty, but I imagine most are picked up from fliers on the street and she curated who was accepted.
What I love most is that Wizarmon makes sure Tailmon remembers on her own. He doesn’t say the eighth child is her partner. He leads his friend to remember what she’s forgotten and didn’t shove the reality at Tailmon. Considering the aforementioned abuse, that probably would not have gone well with how defensive she is. She had to remember her search for Hikari out of her own free will and memories to fully embrace it.
That means going after more women again, right? …Ew.

The first time I rewatched this I was confused because it looks like Vamdemon is showing the real one when he confronts them. But no, he crushes the one in his hand so that one is also fake. It makes sense then that Wizarmon does come back with the real one because he never dropped it. Vamdemon wouldn’t care anymore if the real Crest is lost because he has a better lead that presented itself in Tailmon. (I end up watching most twice, one to gather screen caps the other just to watch without constant pausing lmao)
He’s right, if you you confront Vamdemon with the others now would make everything worse.

I love there’s no gender conformity or discomfort with clothes. Which makes sense for Digimon, honestly. (I didn’t catch what Pumpmon used, but Gotsumon I know I caught using “ore” which is typically a masculine pronoun for casual use.)

I adore the positioning of the kids in the back. Yamato is clearly guarding Takeru from any harm, and Gabumon is side-by-side with his partner but in a position where he could easily jump in front of him or Takeru to protect them if needed.
Yeah, they’re just a couple lil guys having fun.
You could at least play along for a little bit 😠

This child is forever scarred from Patamon first evolving.
I didn’t include a screencap with it, but I also love Patamon evolves before meeting up with the others. For only doing it once before, he’s suddenly hit with Takeru’s strong emotions and want to see him again, and Angemon doesn’t really know what’s going on except one of his friends is getting beaten up and Takeru is crying so obviously he’s going to stop it.
I love this episode. It’s more time to see the brothers together; Angemon finally shows up again, but I think what I like most about it is the tone. It’s so light and fun compared to the episodes around it. Last episode wasn’t too serious, but certainly compared to the coming episodes the majority are hit with a harsher tone shift. That makes the tone shift in this episode when Vamdemon murders his guys for goofing on the job hit like a truck. So much rage.
