she tried doing both trends 😵💫😵💫
five years have passed since the world faced the global crisis that is COVID-19. what followed was a period of unprecedented times that shaped the course of our history at the dawn of a new decade.
and then there’s alex.
this is clipshow.
clipshow is the daily gag comic of the COVID era. it mainly concerns the life of a 10th grader named alex, as well as his smartmouthed sub-conscience, charlie. together, they storm a frozen world put on pause, ready to take things head on…just give them some time.
alex is a neurotic 10th grader whose passion is in the right place, but his head might be the opposite. fresh off of therapy, he’s already looking to forge his path to his future. the problem, however, is finding a way how.
charlie is the strictly imaginary yet ever so trusty sub-conscience of poor alex. call them a smartass all you want, but they’re gonna be here for a while. but there’s more to this family than just alex and his new hubby, however.
first there’s barbara, alex’s stern older sister who he can always count on.
his mom, margaret, is a hard worker who may or may not be scrolling right now.
finally his dear old dad, brandon, who’s just one step away from back ordering the next stock of toilet paper. (god help him.)
along this cast is alex’s lifelong friends, rahul and quinn. you won’t see them too much, but they’ll always be around somewhere.
i’m shooting for spring 2025 to start pushing this out. this has been a while in the making. and while it might not be the most detailed look back, it’s probably the most personal. and i bet some of you know exactly where you were five years ago.

and just like that, now we can start the new year for real
small steps - prologue (originally posted 5/4/2024)
this is my last post of 2024. thank you for sticking around 👽

what a year, huh? usually i do the birthday posts and the art summaries separate. but since it’s basically the end of the year anyway, i decided to combine both to make it easier.
i wouldn’t call 2024 the best year of my life, but it was such a good foundational period. highly grateful for all the great opportunities this year, especially for the 10th anniversary of this whole “stover” thing. on top of teaming with the amazing people at @/hofiassociates and @/prowlradio, i’ve also been making some of my favorite pieces of animation yet.
the only thing is that i feel like i could do more or haven’t done enough. next year, i wanna go all in on my creative work. i actually do have a new cartoon in my hard drive, but it might be another while before it goes public. besides that, i wanna try my hand at long-term projects again. i’ve been working on something for years now, and i hope i can get it out soon enough.
small steps prologue comic should be posted tomorrow. then i won’t have a new drawing until january 2nd like usual. thank you forever to everyone who’s been with me so far. cheers to another 20 million years of this
