ABSOLUTELY UNWELL that both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka have visions of Anakin-as-he-was (as they remembered him, as he was the good person they loved) that you're not really sure if it's truly Anakin or if they're projecting his visage because they haven't let him go.
Absolutely punching the wall over how it's spread across the timeline, set during Anakin's time as Obi-Wan's Padawan, set during his time as Knight as Ahsoka's Master, set during his Revenge of the Sith era just before he fell, the last moment when they both remember him being the person they knew and loved.
Is it really Anakin, finding a way to reach out to both of them through the Force? Anakin who certainly wasn't ready to let Obi-Wan go during the events of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin who would want to help Ahsoka in her time of need during the events of Ahsoka, Anakin who of ALL people would find a way to project himself into his loved ones' minds and hearts?
Or is it that it's not really him, but that he had the same effect on both of them, that he carved such a space for himself in their hearts that his fall scarred them for decades afterwards, that their own issues now revolved around him, Obi-Wan cutting himself off from the Force, from hope for the future, from helping those he could because Anakin haunted him so deeply? Or Ahsoka cutting herself off from connections with those around her, too afraid she would become another Vader or help create another Vader to truly embrace Hera and Sabine and Jacen and everyone else left?
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are bookends to Anakin Skywalker's library, each of them sliced open a piece of Vader's helmet to see the man underneath in a way no one else in the galaxy could, because these were the two people that could still cut into the heart of Anakin, and that cuts both ways. They held onto him just as much as he held onto them.
Absolutely wailing and gnashing my teeth at the ambiguity of both of these characters having visions of Anakin that you're not sure if it's really him because they're so wrapped up in him that maybe they called him there, maybe he came on his own, maybe everything that's at the core of them both is so tangled up in him that they can't see anything else, all they can see is a vision of Anakin Skywalker.
