This week, Symfony released maintenance versions 6.4.18, 7.1.11 and 7.2.3. In addition, Twig published a security advisory and we shared several updates about upcoming Symfony conferences. Lastly, Symfony announced improved support for Mastodon and BlueSky social networks.

This week, the upcoming Symfony 7.3 version improved the invokable command feature, deprecated the use of option arrays for configuring validation constraints, and updated the JsonEncoder component to allow warming up objects and lists. In addition, we announced more details about the special SymfonyDay Chicago event which will take place on March 17.

This week, Symfony celebrated the SymfonyOnline January 2025 conference. In addition, it announced the new Symfony UX Core Team. Lastly, the upcoming Symfony 7.3 version simplified the configuration of the web debug toolbar replacement on Ajax requests and introduced a JsonEncodable attribute.

This week, Symfony development activity was very intense. The upcoming Symfony 7.3 version added a Slug constraint, introduced support for union types in OptionsResolver, enabled using HTTP/3 with the CurlHttpClient, and added support for invokable commands and input attributes. In addition, we published a summary of the Symfony project activity in 2024.

This week, Symfony 6.4.17, 7.1.10 and 7.2.2 maintenance versions were released. In addition, we published more information about the upcoming SymfonyOnline January 2025 conference.

This week, we launched the new Twig playground, a tool that lets you test and experiment with Twig features in a safe, sandboxed environment. While Symfony development activity was lighter than usual due to the year-end holidays, we introduced a new is_granted_for_user() function to check authorization for a given user directly in Twig templates.

This week, Symfony 7.2.1 was released as the first maintenance version of the 7.2 branch. Meanwhile, the upcoming Symfony 7.3 version introduced a new JsonEncoder component that is 10 times faster than the Serializer component and also supports streaming payloads.

This week, Symfony celebrated the SymfonyCon 2024 Vienna conference with great success. This annual event brought together the global Symfony community to exchange ideas, learn new things, and collaborate on contributions to the Symfony project. In addition, the upcoming Symfony 7.3 version introduced support for pre-compressing web assets and a new userIsGranted() security method to test user authorization without relying on the session.

This week, the stable Symfony 7.2.0 version was released, featuring tens of new additions. Additionally, we announced the Black Friday Symfony promotions. Furthermore, the maintenance releases for Symfony 5.4.48, 6.4.16, and 7.1.9 are now available. Finally, next week, the global Symfony community will gather in Vienna for the SymfonyCon 2024 conference.
