Synopsis

"Where's Ironhide?" turns out not to be a difficult question.
- In the year 1897, Captain Archibald Witwicky has uncovered a giant mechanical man frozen in the Arctic! He and his crew excavate the site and begin to dig the frozen titan out of the ice.
- Sam Witwicky and his father head to Bobby Bolivia's used car lot to purchase Sam's first car. Unbeknownst to them, the Autobots are watching over them, hidden in plain sight as everyday vehicles.
- A group of brave soldiers are battling Skorponok [sic] as the Decepticon wrecks a desert village.
- Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet and Bumblebee rescue Mikaela, Sam and Sam's parents from Agent Simmons and Sector Seven.
- Sam and his loved ones have been taken to Hoover Dam by Sector Seven. There, they discover that Bumblebee is not the only Transformer in Sector Seven custody; they have Megatron under ice as well!
- The Autobots and the Decepticons duke it out in the city while the humans scramble about, trying to escape the carnage.
- With the Decepticons defeated, the Autobots have gone back into hiding. Several of them pose as everyday vehicles around Murray Wright High School.

Notes
- All the locations and events in this book are lifted from the 2007 movie except the epilogue at Murray Wright High School. Murray-Wright is a real high school in Detroit. Presumably one of the book's creators went there and made it the location of a second Autobot contingent settling on Earth as an in-joke.
- Strangely, this book's copyright dates from mid 2006, due to the movie's original projected release date of November, 2006.
- Starscream is drawn with the earliest known head design in his appearance within this book: A more skull shaped head that seemingly lacks a neck as it connects to his torso.
- Although Sam's mom is referred to in the text, she never shows up in any of the illustrations.
- Frenzy is present at the battle in Mission City.
