THE MONARCHY - a semi-private discord server made & managed by me and @kikiwhimss
not gonna lie to y'all, it gets pretty hard for me to keep up with my mutuals and sims 4 updates even though they're plastered on every social media app you could think of. i know what you're thinking; "we have sims after dark" or "i'm already in a sims 4 server, what's so special about yours?"... probably nothing LMAOO. this is a simple server meant to bring other simmers closer in the community and to give everyone an opportunity to better interact with each other's content. as someone who has her head all over the place, sometimes it's easy for me to miss posts made by mutuals. if i could just gather them all up into one big groupchat where i could see everything at once i would... oh wait, i can. that's only if y'all are willing to join. i'm also looking for a management crew to help me better manage the server! this is an invite-only server (that should be pretty self-explanatory). this server is also open to small cc creators, animators, pose creators, modders, etc. you'll get special roles to promote your content. even if you're fairly new to it all, i promise it's a good place to start :) new simmers are welcome too! if you're looking for tips, reccomendations or any kind of help, join our server! you'll get 24/7 access to support. want your audience to grow on your socials? the more members we get, the better you can promote your socials. make sure to be active and interact with other members to get better engagement. give, and you shall receive. to keep our community active, we'll be hosting challenges every 2 weeks to give everyone a chance to express their creativity. ALL SIM STYLES ARE WELCOME! Punctuating Dialogue

➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
