I also cheat a lot with reality. You shouldn’t be able to see his underskull from a top view, but I do it anyway cause it looks cool. If Mikey Mouse can cheat his ears, I can cheat Sans’ underskull. It’s the advantage of 2d vs 3d.

Bitty and Basic
Another proportion study between these two. Heads are scaled to the same size, the biggest difference is how wide the shoulders are. The rest of the body proportion usually follows once you determine neck and shoulder size. Shoulders determine build. Bitty = shoulders no wider than his head. Regular = shoulders a little wider than his head.

I was hoping to get some arm motion in there but when I drew it, it just looks like they’re pushing against the hold around them rather than popping themselves out.
There’s supposed to be a lot of the character talking in the panel but I may have to split it into two for it to make more sense with the character mid action.

But like, the character is just squeezing their head out of the grasp with no problem…
Anyone have any suggestions or references on how to draw a character who’s being ingulfed in a grab or a hold and then popping just their head out to speak. The picture should capture the moment the character’s head pops out. Not before or after. That moment. I’m having such a hard time getting it to work.
