Strolling aimlessly in a bookshop is self care
Women are stereotyped as being materialistic because, for most of history, they were used as commodities. Dowries. Bride prices. When looking for a husband, they weren't told to look for a kind man. They were told to look for a wealthy man. This can be found in all forms of media.
The group historically excluded from wealth and the means to gain it will naturally value it more in all its forms. Men should stop complaining about a problem they created and uphold to this day
Yeah we think of incels as this modern thing, but there’s always been this narrative that men who lack the means to exploit women and coerce them into relationships through capital will expect them to be “good” and look past that. Meanwhile the reality has always gone like this:
Wealthy old men to women: you should only care about money and marry me for wealth even though I’m butt ugly and three times your age.
Women who weren’t even allowed to own anything: ok.
Poor men: this is obviously the woman’s fault
I wish y’all hated misogynists and predatory men the way y’all hate women who are kinda cringe or annoying on the internet 💔
(Ex. my beautiful queen Laurenzside, “millennial cringe” videos that just so happen to be women having fun, other examples that I can’t think of atm).
I don't understand how someone can be so brain dead that they genuinely believe a man paying to use a woman's body is feminist. Like genuinely how did we get here. How is this something that's praised and encouraged. Literally how.
The sexiest thing a woman can do is move on. Whether it’s from their partner, career, family, etc. Society has programmed women into believing there’s a moral reward for enduring and staying. Fuck that. Get a new partner, new career, move to another state/country, please just MOVE ON.
I hate that every time I see "Be kind" now, I see "Be quiet".
It makes so much more sense now why its geared primarily towards women.
We always have to sit with our discomfort. Just shut up and go with it, regardless of how you feel.
