Jeff Stormer Writes About Stuff

@jeffstormer

Hi everybody. I'm Jeff.

I imagine most of y'all reading this knew that, but, hello.

I'm Jeff Stormer, from the internet. I make podcasts, and games and think a lot about pro wrestling. I'm happy to see you all on Tumblr.

I don't know fully what to use this space for, but I guess having a space that is a "me space" is a good thing to have. It won't be full-on "private twitter" space, but a blog for shitposts and Golden Lovers feelings Pagliacci jokes and I guess game design stuff isn't a bad thing to have.

Obviously @partyofonepod is the account for podcast stuff (and then there will probably be other sub-blogs for other pods as they come up shit I gotta make an AMFC blog don't I).

If you're here, I'm glad. Be good to yourselves today.

Tumblr I need your help.

If you're seeing this post, can you do me a favor

Can you stop what you're doing and draw Gonzo from memory real quick

Thanks, Tumblr

like the fact that PrEP and PEP just kinda became a normal part of life one day without fanfare is something I think about a lot. Thousands of people died gruesome horrible deaths and now when I go on Reddit or ride the subway I see dinky little ads like "start this medication today so you don't contract/spread HIV! and if you get accidentally exposed there's a different medication for that to keep yourself from contracting!" and it's just an everyday thing. all those people who died fought for it to be this way.

I am 100% serious when I say that the cowboy in Dracula is completely thematically fundamental. The story stops working every time ppl try to take him out. Its why they just end up making it another story entirely.

BATMAN: BUMP IN THE NIGHT is a podcast where me and @partyofonepod tell Batman stories in a continuity that started with the base premise of "ok but what if RPattz Batman had to deal with ghosts and Draculas though". We're making the world up as we go and drawing inspiration from Matt Reeves's The Batman, Scott Snyder's Zero Year, Batman: The Animated Series, the Nolan movies, and Schumacher's Batman & Robin, plus monster-of-the-week stuff like The X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We take turns playing Batman, and the other person controls the city of Gotham and the NPCs in it over the course of a supernatural mystery.

You can find it monthly-ish on the Moonshot Patreon AND Jeff's Patreon and you should listen to it because it's really just a joy to make. Anyway that's my pitch bye

Fun thing about football right now is that there's a move called the "brotherly shove" that the Eagles do when they're very close to scoring, where the whole team puts their hands on the ass of the guy with the ball and physically propels him over the line into the endzone for the touchdown, and all the other teams' fans hate it because it's got such a ridiculously high rate of success for the Eagles and doesn't really seem to work for any other team. People are straight-up calling for this move to be banned, claiming it's "unstoppable" and gives an "unfair advantage" but it really and truly is a skill issue. The whole league hates this move because it only makes the Eagles win more often and nobody else can figure out how to do it right

Other teams are so afraid of it that they panic and do some wacky looney tunes shit to try and stop it. The refs had to come out on the field and tell the bad guys to stop doing this

because it's blatantly against the rules of football, and that if they tried it a fourth time in a row that they would just straight-up grant a free touchdown to the Eagles

The rest of the NFL: this move doesn't work for us but it always works for the eagles... how do we stop them, we've tried everything... Washington Commanders Linebacker Frankie Luvu: ...not everything... Washington Commanders Linebacker Frankie Luvu:

Did you enjoy Across the Spider-Verse? Do you like TTRPGs?

You should check out the award-winning TTRPG I wrote as a love letter to Spider-Man, called Anyone Can Wear the Mask.

(not for nothing, but the art in the game by Elijah Forbes is gorgeous)

It's a 3-player RPG where one player plays a local superhero; another, the City the hero has sworn to protect; and the third, the villain threatening the safety of the people. You draw cards, roll dice, draw a map, and tell a story about what it means to be a hero.

It's currently available in print and digital, which includes the PDF and audiobook with narration by Aaron Catano-Saez (Skyjacks: Courier's Call). Peep the game's trailer:

You can get the game right here:

still amazes me that by season 45 or whatever, Supernatural was being exclusively watched by delusionally hopeful women with flamingo-salinity tolerance for bad writing and the creators still couldn’t pander to them because maybe there was 1 straight guy out there still accidentally watching it

It’s been long enough for me to reveal the incredibly funny thing about this post, which was I was trying to think of a way to launder a cool flamingo fact into something I thought Tumblr would re-blog. i don’t care about the show. at all.

Go Birds as in "I love my city and my neighborhood and my community and all the people in it, those I have met and those I never will, and I am rooted in a place and that place is an immutable part of my heart and my spirit, and also did you see when Saquon Barkley reverse hurdle jumped over a guy"

Merry Christmas to this one shot in the John Denver and the Muppets TV special where Henson has taken his hand out of Kermit for just long enough to accidentally create a reaction image for the ages

I don't get the love for A Christmas Story, I don't even think this kid could build a high-tech suit of armor in a cave with a box of scraps

New Episode: Blood Yule with Brandon Leon-Gambetta

It's Christmas Eve, and you know what that means:

A brand-new Party of One holiday spectacular, where my dear friend Brandon and I fight off holiday horrors in Blood Yule, a winter expansion to Bar the Windows, Bolt the Door by Stoneshore!

You'll dig this episode if you like: Krampus (2015), Rare Exports (2010), the existential horror of making a podcast during the holidays

not interested in getting involved in the rest of this discussion, for the most part, but to me this is a GREAT piece of advice that many people these days don't seem to be getting or understanding.

not everyone you meet or interact with is your friend, the requirements and expectations for respectful behaviour between friends is not the same as between strangers.
