hi all, I live next to an elementary school, and am TAing a class at my university this semester. as i am seeing children walk home hand in hand with their parents, and uni students helping each other carry boxes into their dorms, i think about Palestinian students.

i think about how all 12 of Palestine's universities have been reduced to rubble, disrupting more than 88,000 students' higher education journeys. i think about how more than 86% of UNRWA schools (477 of 564), which are now used as refugee shelters, have been targeted more than once by iof drone strikes and U.S. made bombs. in total, almost 650,000 children are out of school in Ghazza.

my friend Hazem himself is a dentistry student. his family of 7—his parents and 5 younger siblings (vetted #281)—is a family of learning. all of his siblings are top of their class. now not only out of school but forced to wait in long lines for bread and water, which iof has specifically targeted in the past week.

we have raised their evacuation funds for them, but to continue surviving every week until the border crossing opens is extremely expensive. in North Gaza, food costs 30x more than anywhere else in the strip.

we've only raised about €300 in the past 8 hours for Hazem's family. we cannot let this momentum die down now. i fear for Hazem's family, who survived 5 separate bombings in the past week and a half.

the remaining fund will be the family's survival fund and emergency relocation fund, should the iof bomb Jabalia camp again and the family needs to flee. please donate what you can.

€39,498 raised of €50,000 goal as of September 4, let's try to get this amount by next Monday.

€15 in the past hour!!! Please continue to help Hazem raise money for his family's emergency relocating fund. living in Jabalia is only going to get more dangerous.

€41,608 / €42,500 short term goal. That's €892 more to raise in the next 12 hours.

i will make a more detailed post about this tomorrow but when it boils down to it i need you all to know this: time is running dangerously low for Shaima and Muhammad's families to evacuate.

yesterday 1am the kids were woken up by deafening explosions extremely close to al-Mawasi—another iof targeted airstrike aiming for refugee camps. the family was forced to flee without any of their possessions. they are now officially tentless.

to make matters worse, Hala agency contacted Wafaa to tell her that she needs to have the full campaign amount ready by August 18 if she wants her family to be registered for evacuation together. We still have about 28k left to raise.

we have less than SEVEN DAYS in order to help this tentless and starving family evacuate. they have been displaced more than 10 times now, and the kids are sleeping exposed on the sidewalks of Khan Younis. I opened Al-Jazeera literally 15 minutes ago and the iof is bombing Khan Younis AS WE SPEAK. Please. I don't know how else to urge you to donate, the lives of 10 children and their parents literally are in your hands.

The last donations made were from more than half an hour ago. Please do all that you can to save these children from constant siege and bombings. Please save a new mother from contracting potentially deadly postpartum infections. Please help rekindle hope for Wafaa to reunite with her beloved family.

Currently $51,924 raised of $80,000 goal as of August 11 end of day, we need to raise the remaining $28,076 in the next seven days. For the price of a cup of coffee, you can save a family.

Two raffles being held simultaneously by me, winners will both be announced at the start of September (this deadline was set before I knew about Hala agency's stipulations. we still need this campaign to be completed THIS WEEK). please donate what you can and enter one of the two raffles: a crocheted Magikarp plush or a custom screen-print tote bag.

donations slightly slowing down again!! a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to Shaima and Muhammad's family today, let's keep up the momentum!

Currently $58,586 raised of $60,000 short term goal, could we raise the remaining $1,414 by the end of TODAY?

A reminder that this 60k goal is for Shaima and her husband Mahmoud's evacuation costs. We will need to complete the remaining campaign goal (80k total) in order to get this family new tents, living supplies such as baby formula and cooking pots, and food.

i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.

i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.

palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.

they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.

palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.

here are some verified gfms. please share the linked posts. it's the bare minimum we can do from the comforts of our home.

vetted (#161)

It is done it is complete I have done the whole squad, and now I may rest (listen to world's beyond number and avoid the urge to draw That party)

Hi all, one of my artist friends have volunteered to host two personally designed tote bags for anyone who donates $5 USD or more to Shaima and Muhammad's campaign! Every multiple of $5 USD is counted as a separate entry, same rules as the Magikarp raffle :] Because of the artist's geographic restrictions, the two tote bags are also U.S. shipping only. Please send receipt (with donation amount and donation date attached) to me via direct message to be entered.

Below is one of the egg-themed designs that will be screen printed onto a tote bag, perfect for carrying knick knacks and being fashionable! do so while saving a family! the next design will be released when the family hits their $60k milestone, when they will be able to pay for all 10 of their children's evacuation AND the four parents'.

Donations have been slowing down for three days now, we need your help to reach the family's goal as soon as possible.

Currently $35,757 raised of $80,000 campaign goal as of August 9. We need to get to the halfway goal in the next 2 days, that's $4,243 left to raise! Please donate and pass this post along to friends interested in this raffle.

Shaima & Mohammad’s goal is currently at $50,934 / $80,000 (63%).

JEWELRY RAFFLE FOR PALESTINIAN RELIEF

A local artisan was kind enough to provide me with 8 pieces of authentic crystal jewelry to offer for donation funds — as I am unsure how to go about doing an auction, I’ve decided to open a raffle supporting three different campaigns for Palestinian families looking to evacuate Gaza or in need of survival aid while in Gaza.

These families are:

Mohammed Shamia’s family (in Swedish kroner)

All families are 100% legitimate — I have been in contact with Maram and Ahmed for months, who have provided me multiple pictures, videos, and recordings of their situation. They have been featured in a video by YouTuber Ro Ramdin and have been vetted by @/el-shab-hussein. I am also in consistent contact with their beneficiary through a group chat who updates us on the movement of all money.

Mohammed’s family has multiple pictures and videos of their situation on family member Ahmad’s Twitter/X account proving their legitimacy. I have personally communicated with Ahmad and his history online stretches back far before 10/7. His campaign has been SEVERELY stagnant, often going 20+ days before receiving a donation. He is trying to raise enough to evacuate his sister and her two children.

I personally connected Marah to the one managing her campaign, who is a friend of mine. Marah is also friends in-person with other verified families over on Twitter/X, where she posts pictures and videos of she and her family’s situation. They use all money raised to survive displacement in Gaza and to save up enough to register for evacuation when the time is right. Marah’s campaign has been shared by @/90-ghost.

Donate the amount equivalent to the value of the piece to any one of these campaigns, DM me proof of your donation, and tell me which piece you are interested in (send the number and letter listed next to the description of the piece). I will enter your name into a raffle for the piece you would like. One donation = one entry. At the end of the raffle, I will randomly choose one recipient per piece, contact said recipient for details, and mail the piece to you.

From left to right: A pair of Rutilated Quartz earrings valued $20 (E1), a pair of Kunzite earrings valued $18 (E2), and a pair of multi tourmaline earrings valued $20 (E3).

From left to right: A labradorite, aura quartz, clear aura crackle quartz, and sea sediment jasper bracelet valued $30 (B1), and a chrysocolla, morganite, phosphosiderite, and yellow opal bracelet valued $30 (B2).

From left to right: A clear quartz necklace valued $30 (N1), a red tiger’s eye necklace valued $30 (N2), and a flower agate, rose quartz, lepidolite, strawberry quartz, and clear quartz necklace valued $32 (N3).

If you can’t participate, that’s okay! Please share this post so that others may see and enter to win some beautiful jewelry for the most important cause — saving lives.

Raffle lasts until 09/09/2024. That’s one month to enter!

entered the raffle and donated equivalent of abt $25 to each fundraiser! please consider joining as soon as you can! it can be any donation :) I entered in for earrings, and a couple necklaces <3 if you are unable to donate, please take the time to read through the post and share as much as you can for Ahmed, Maram, Mohammed, Marah, and for yourself in knowing you got to contribute to another person’s very vulnerable life right now. thanks for reading!

Ahmed & Maram are currently at €26,985 / €40,000 (67%).

Mohammed Shamia & his family are currently at kr58,836 / kr250,000 (23%).

Marah Atallah & her family are currently at $6,285 / $27,000 (23%).

idk why but there is something unusually funny to me about Will Wood using social media extremely sparingly but making an exception to post this long ass rant about how much he hates the Netflix Wednesday show on his youtube community page

The thing about becoming disabled is that it touches every part of your life—which means it changes every part of your life.

Your own self image will likely be completely broken down. You are not who you thought you were, and your life will not be what you thought it would be. It’s up to you to decide how you want to rebuild yourself. It’s up to you to figure out how to even begin to do that.

Likewise, the way you see the world around you will change. You start viewing everything through a different lens. You have to decide how to interpret what you see, and what you do about it.

You learn which parts of you are intrinsic, unchangeable. In some ways, you become a new person. You learn things about yourself and about the world around you that other people might never have to learn.
