(RE)INTRODUCTION

my name is erin (he/they) and i'm a 24 year old neurodivergent and queer writer. i decided it was time for a fresh start again and made a brand new blog.

i spend more time thinking about writing than actually committing to it since i'm still suffering from burnout these days, so snippets will be shared quite irregularly for the unforeseeable future. however, i'm not one to pass up rambling about my wips, given the opportunity.

i'm both ask and tag game friendly, just know that i can be slow to respond to both, so please be patient with me.

MY WRITING

you may find a list of all my wips on this post; all my stories include queer characters, and i'm rather fond of fantasy and tragedies (sorry not sorry). my stories deal with dark themes at times, and although i will do my best to give proper warnings when necessary, please tell me if there's anything you need tagged.

thank you! i will answer for Zyg from Space Cruise WIP because I've been thinking about him today.

🌙 - When [Zyg] has downtime, what do they most look forward to? What do they miss most when their situation doesn't allow for it?

He thinks about his beloved office in the xenoanthropology lab every hour of the day he isn't in it. At any given point, he is thinking about his latest research paper. He should have a t-shirt that says "I'd rather be carrying out sociological analysis right now!"

🔦 - What's something [Zyg] is afraid to acknowledge?

Zyg knows he's never going to live up to his family's expectations, and he has for a while, but he still lives in fear of "proving them right." That he's obsessed with aliens to the point where he can't relate to his own species at all, much less his own family, that he's doomed to fail in his career and in relationships because he's a weirdo, that he'll be marked as The Disappointment as long as he lives.

He tries very hard to assert that his career and research has nothing to do with his personal inclinations, to deny that he has an emotional investment in humans specifically. Because maybe, if it isn't because he's a freak, he can at least reject that part of their condemnation. He can just be a rational, detached academic, who is doing important work for the good of society and not to sate his own curiosity.

However, he is a xenophile and a freak, and he must learn to accept that this is why he's a good academic.

⛲️ - Is there anything [Zyg] would be tempted to change if they went back in time?

He would want to change every time he had ever listened to his parents and make sure he did the exact opposite of whatever they told him to instead. Except maybe being forced to attend this cruise.

Idk there's something really sweet to me about fix-it writers. Like, me and you- maybe we couldnt make it this time, but in another universe, a million people saw the pain of our story and are writing us a happy ending, giving us the chance we never had

the most aggravating fans are the ones that become huge fans of a villainous character but just can’t handle the fact that the villainous character does villainous things and instead said fans invent a million assbackwards headcanons about how the villain is TOTALLY not a villain at all and is some tragic blob where nothing is their fault even up to and including murder and genocide

i am just so baffled by this
