Nightwing Cover Cross Stitch

I made a cross stitch pattern based on the cover of Nightwing #78 art by Bruno Redondo.

It's a full coverage piece, but you could skip the pale blue background if you wanted. It's a large piece, 200 by 307 stitches. How large yours will be will depend on what size stitches you do. If you do 11 count (11 stitches per inch) it will be 18.2 x 28 inches. If you do 26 count, it would be 7.7 x 12 inches. Always add about 5 inches to both measurements so you have plenty of space around your piece. You don't want the fabric to unravel and ruin your project. You can cut the fabric down after you're done if you don't like having a lot of excess.

Stupid thing I thought of drawing ages ago when I was watching fruit basket

Dick was the last to be adopted, Jason became the black sheep post-resurrection, Tim made himself Robin, Damian was dropped in Gotham after ten years of being kept secret, Cass possesses killer instincts that run counter to Batman's philosophy, Duke is a meta whose parents are still alive (albeit jokerized), and Steph has zero legal connections to the Waynes. All of the batkids have reason to believe they're the only one Bruce doesn't want around and Bruce is unaware of the problem because they don't vocalize it not just out of the usual emotional constipation, but also a deep-seated fear of being proven right. In this essay, I will—

Where’s the rest of the essay op

I’ve been working on learning Russian because I teach a bunch of Russian speaking children at church and I want to be able to say insanely simple things to them, like eat your snack and stop talking 🤣. I’ve literally been working on it a month or so, so I know like 25 words so far, but tonight a 3 year old asked me “I want…..” then froze because she didn’t know the word for what she wanted, so she asked another Russian child in Russian “how do you say drink” and guess who understood her question and was able to say “drink. You want a drink? Sure go get a drink.” 💪 highlight of my week I’m so proud of myself 🤣 her 10 year old sister was not as impressed with me because SHES fluent in Russian because “it’s not that hard.” Lmao (it has nothing to do with how they speak Russian at home, no, she just knows it because it’s easy.) Apparently also my pronunciation is atrocious and the kids mock me for it 😌 but they know what I’m trying to say when I say things. Like “this is your water” 🤣 maybe I’ll get there one day. We’ll see. It’s nice having a bunch of kids to practice on.

May I ask where you are learning it from?

A mix of sources. At the moment it’s mostly Duolingo but there’s a podcast called Russian made easy I listen to during my commute and then I’m working on the alphabet just from like random websites lol. I want to eventually get a workbook or something to help with the writing part. Duolingo will eventually make me start spelling so I have to get more serious about learning the alphabet. Physically writing helps me with that.

I tried Rosetta Stone but I don’t find the method helpful. Duolingo at least tells you what things mean, Rosetta Stone makes you guess and I hate that. However for grammar Duolingo tells you nothing and just expects you to figure it out which is why I’m finding the podcast helpful, and why I’ll eventually want a more traditional book. I’ve already found some conjugation stuff in Duolingo that isn’t explained and they’re just like “pick which word is correct in this sentence” and it’s the same word conjugated differently and I’m like…. I have no friggen clue you haven’t explained to me any of this! lol.

Fanart inspired by work from @cdelphiki Jason and the Three Terrors, especially this scene:

"Talia collapsed to the ground, clutching at her stomach, but didn’t make any noise herself. She locked eyes with Jason, briefly. No longer than a blink, but she said far more to Jason than he ever wanted to hear.
Far more than Jason could handle. Take care of my kids, they were saying. Help them get away."

Hi. I'm reading your work Jason and the three terrors, and I'm so glad that occurs find it. I'm in love with your style and with your big brother Jason. But I'm here to ask if it's ok to make an art based with your work, and post it. With the reference of your work, oj course. Please, forgive me with the stranger sentences, I'm not native english speaker.

“I don’t want any of your shit,” Jason yelled, “I hate you.”

Bruce did a double take to the hoody, then asked, “You figured it out,” gently. When he moved to get up on his feet, Jason took a step backward, so Bruce froze and gave Jason a helpless look.

“What, did you think I was too stupid,” Jason asked, scrubbing at his eyes again because they wouldn’t stop. Of course Bruce had been lying about thinking Jason was smart, too. Of course he was.

Why else would he have brought Jason into his house, if he honestly thought he was smart enough to figure out he was Batman?

“No-“ Bruce started, but Jason cut him off.

“I trusted you,” he cried, stepping back and slamming his bedroom door closed again, right in Bruce’s stupid face, before he collapsed down with his back up against it and buried his face into his knees.

soooooo I finally got around to doing fanart for one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite fics! This is from chapter 53 of Reclaiming Innocence by @cdelphiki, and quite honestly I could not be happier with how it turned out! Probably should have reread and looked for descriptions of the room, but whatever, I like the color scheme I landed on.
