was wondering what happened to you and your art but i hope everything is well above all
I go through periods of me deleting my art and all because I merely struggle (I don't like attention because it makes me conscious of my art) I still have my old art, in my tablet and drive, I just simply took it all down from public view and all until I'm able to draw consistently again!! it's weird sorry
Hi, so sorry to bother you, but you know that post you made a while back about all the different symbols in cotl? I'm trying to find it since it was quite helpful but I can't find it despite having reblogged it twice. Both reblogs seem to have entirely disappeared and the site won't show me any of your posts even in the archive. Is there a way I could find it again? If not or if you'd prefer I not keep looking I understand and will stop.
oh!! Don't worry I privated most of them but I don't mind taking them out if you guys still want it. Give me a minute.
I HAVE A QUESTION
ARE THE TROPHIES LITERARLY THE CROWNS???
Like are they just sitting there, unattanded, in the cult where anyone can just snatch them??????? Just like how it happened before the bishops randomly found the crowns according to the lore if i understood it right??
Not exactly something that's particularly set in stone, but I don't believe they are. Outside of the fact it'd be weird if they grew mold/plants/etc at the moment they were placed, but also because crowns cannot exactly be "found" from my own investigation.
Crowns are made of Ichor (Blood of Gods) that primarily hurt whoever isn't divine by birthright. Furthermore the crowns were made by Chemach, whose only purpose at the time was to make crowns (for others). I'm not entirely sure if those who get to be crown bearers were chosen for specific reasons, but we can be sure that trying to get the crown by yourself would literally corrupt you, Chemach as a prime example.
And If I remember right in one of the Tablets it's said how the crowns simply disappeared along with their bearers, and I'm going to throw a long shot and say that if crowns don't disappear into thin air after the bearer dies, that Chemach simply took the crowns of those corpses and used them to make her own crown, or something among those lines.
Before anyone comes at me because of Leshy's and Shamura's dialogue, that's barely sustainable evidence, because:
INTERESTING, VERY INTERESTING My thoughts after reading yours is that because the bearers were defeated without having anyone to pass it to or to take it over, the divine godlh power in the Crowns escaped, or leaked out, rendering them hollow empty shells. Just my thoughts.
anyway guys remember when I asked the develops what the mystic seller was yapping about and they said "no mortal can understand their language n whatever?
okay watch me dissect this then lol because I know the meaning of each of these symbols
alright let's go by the first one
This one doesn't have a particular meaning, in fact throughout history the meaning of this symbol is frankly very ambiguous, but we could assume that in this case it's similar to the Orthodox cross, which from the top of my head I think it symbolized god(s) judging over those below or their followers.
There's another variation but this is the closest we can get in terms of symbology, both sun and war and equally valid meanings to this symbol (Sun could also refer to god, specially since we already went over how in COTL gods are also somewhat referred to as Suns)
Take this as you please, I believe this one is a very well known symbol but I'll let this one here in case anyone doesn't know.
Now the eye can have several meanings, enlightenment, observing, etc. But I feel like I haven't addressed how THIS is a major thing in COTL.
Sorry this feels a little corny, lol, but it's sometimes also represented to how we see in the text (from Mystic Seller), so we could also assume/guess it means "approval)
And a quick rundown for those who are not up to date with me: The upside down cross with two lines coming from below is a symbol used by those who favor Narinder/are his allies.
Again this is a major guess LOL maybe it's even more complicated or even has no meaning at all but I think it could be fun if it was.
omg guys before I sleep since last blog surprised everyone I have more stuff to share to make you guys cry
I wasn't going to share it cuz I thought maybe everyone knew or was already told but you know what!! screw it, give me a minute!! you'll love it trust
Rituals have a connection to where they originated from!! Lots of lore implications
Some images for reference:
Hence why THESE are purple because it was Shamura who taught him how to!! that's why they feel so guilty! because it was their fault!! haha!!
So to put it in a few words: Red for Narinder, Purple for Shamura, Blue for Kallamar, Green for Heket!!
Question 1: "What about the orange and yellow Rituals?"
As we established before, grey are from the Cult of fire, a cult that is likely either dead or in it's process (that or they chose the color grey poorly)
It's safe to assume there's other cults though, I'd say one for each element: water, fire, wind, ground..you know the drill. Especially considering that there's usage of alchemic symbols of such over the game (I have some ss of such examples, but for the sake of making it brief and sweet I won't show them)
And besides the main elements there were also other cults/gods, one of them being of wealth, with YES confirmed existence and I'm actually obsessed about her!!
Also! When displayed in rituals/related to it in drawings, it's represented as the sun symbol!(although it also means gold) and you know what Suns are in this game??? THATS RIGHT!!! GODS!!!!
Anyway yes so orange would be for this goddess, specially since it's LITERALLY related to gold ^^ This cult/religion is specially thriving since midas is such aaa....devotedds...follower....
The yellow ones are still a mystery to me though, it could be from any previous god known to man in this game. It's been a while since I have dug into the details of this game so I have yet to know ^^
Question 2: "Why does Leshy have no rituals?"
He's blind.
Also I'm going to assume he's a mix of Heket's rituals since their biome is pretty similar, and Heket usually makes Leshy do things and stuff (based on in-game dialogue). So it would make sense if they shared it, especially since there's a "Harvest ritual" that would make sense with Leshy's whole thing because he's the one that has most stuff going on, plant wise.
