Worried about the commitment? It's only a minimum of one drawing for artists, and 5,000 word fic for writers, so anyone can help us celebrate queer joy in this year when we need it most!
Catra learns how the Horde found her - and that those who gave her to the Horde are still a threat. She wants to understand who she is now, but how can she when nothing makes any sense?
This is a lot of emotion and a little plot. (Well, moderate plot.) We're going to be with Catra for a chapter or three before we go back to Adora.
While the 2024 Big Bang may be over (see the entire collection here), the SPOP Creative Flex server runs events year round and there's a chill, low commitment summer themed event coming soon from the same mod as the Bang.

Shadow Weaver isn't the only thing Adora sees in the Shadows after she leaves the Fright Zone. Everywhere she looks she sees Catra, she would think she was going crazy if Catra didn't actually make an appearance so often. The more time goes on and Adora gets comfortable in Bright Moon, the easier it is to shake off the panic that sets in when a tree or bush looks a little too Catra-shaped. Adora never stops looking for her though. However, the lines are blurred as to what is truly a threat and what is just her imagination so often that eventually, some things slip through the cracks.
Or, five times Adora imagines Catra is there and one time Catra was actually there.
Hello! I got the amazing opportunity to be a part of the @spopbang! I've never been a part of something like this and it's been so cool talking with other writers and artists who are all coming together to show their appreciation for this series. It's been a blast and I'm so grateful to Carro for the awesome art she made and to Tippen for hosting this event.

We had just under forty brand new fanfics and fanart go up over the last week (with a few latecomers still to come), so many beautiful works of art and amazing stories!
In many cases, people went above and beyond with multiple works of art and multi-chapter fanfics much higher than the word count minimum and we can't thank our wonderful participating artists and writers enough for not just being wonderful to work with, but also sharing your beautiful creations and love of SPOP with everyone!
A big thank you also to the mods of the SPOP Creative Flex discord for letting us use their space to run this event and helping with the influx of new people who joined for the event. And of course a big thanks to everyone who has shared and interacted with the stuff made for the Big Bang to encourage our fandom creators!

Summary: Most people are trying to find themselves in their twenties, but Adora is just trying to find out what she is. The internet is supposed to bring the world’s knowledge to their fingertips, but it isn’t helpful for finding what magical species goes through this many weird incidents in their lifetime. Adora’s journey leads her across Etheria, but nothing falls into place until she spots a mysterious kitten that looks familiar but always stays out of sight. Following it finally brings her the answers she has been looking for, but it’s only the beginning of a new quest: to learn how to use her magic without accidentally blowing up a bus stop. It doesn’t count as property destruction if she didn’t know she was doing it, right? (An ethereal magical realism AU in modern Etheria)

Bit of a last-minute cram in the end 😅 but at long last, the first chapter of my fic “Friends With Benefits” is live! If you’re looking for Vegas-centered slowburn with hot queer vampires, copious amounts of smut, and a dash of (lovingly-addressed) mommy issues, go ahead and check it out!
