Literally something that has been on my mind since FOREVER but only now enhightened since I've been listening to Madonna a lot it's the way that Todd and Neil would have contact with queer culture between the 70's and 90's. Not only with the rise of things mostly associated with rock in the 70's and mid 80's like glamrock, queer artists, the rebellion and self expression that most probably came with the counter-culture by the 60's, but things like ballroom culture, the rise of pop and things like that!! And not even Anderperry, but...imagine how Charlie would act when Like a Prayer came out???? Hello?? EROTICA???? I know that there are a lot of other pop artists from that time period but I mostly mentioned Madonna because I've been kinda obsessed with her recently.

Have I posted about this before?? I think so! But fuck it, it's my blog, I wanna talk about this AGAIN😀😀😀

God bless Willoughby Tucker for being the only person who showed Ethel what love actually feels like that she had to talk about him even after her death. ( even though he left without saying goodbye, but he was the only good person she met in her life).

- He might be dead and she met him in the afterlife or he's actually still alive and she found him as a fly wondering around. -

sometimes i think about the casualty of touching and sharing space in dps.

todd sitting on neils bed while he types up the letter in his father's name. neil leaning on todd with that stupid grin. todd jumping into neil's arms.

meeks and pitts dancing and holding hands. sharing headphones.

charlie shoving his friends out of the way so knox can talk to chris, grabbing meeks specifically. "because women swoon."

it doesn't take away any significance of them comforting todd in the end. it doesn't make anything heavier, but it shows that they are close. forced proximity by the fact that they all kind of live together, but chosen intimacy because they are friends.

which is why this movie seems so queer, but also is just top tier media about friendship, depending on the interpretation. because friendship isn't any less valuable or close. it doesn't deny physical intimacy, sharing spaces, overlapping them by holding a hand, shoulder to shoulder, a hug.

I know being visible is hard right now, and you’re no less valid for having to hide. Deep down, know that this is your day too. I love you x
