(Creative Artistic Design) night. At the beginning of each school year the four categories for that particular years C.A.D. are announced and any student in the school may enter one or more categories. It is a fantastic ‘art as fashion’ performance night and students typically spend months and months…

My daughter had to dress as a Sea Anemone for school. The costume had to be worn all day so balloon costumes wouldn’t work. I made this using a pillowcase pumpkin costume pattern and mesh tubing. I added some embroidered appliqués of clown fish, since clownfish live inside Sea Anemones. It was easy to make!

To make it, use a pump to blow up long, pink balloons. Then, attach the balloons to a pink shirt with a safety pin stuck through the non-inflated excess at the end of the balloon's knot. For even more detail, create a crown out of pipe cleaners and felt and hot glue plastic fish onto the crown.

Trick or treating as Nemo's anemone

Estrella: Hello, I made the costume with latex balloons and one large helium clown fish.

Stella's Halloween costume this year is a re-do from the Homestead era. Nemo's slime coating protects him from Stella's poisonous tentacles. About 75 pink balloons were harmed in the production of this photo.
