Living sacrifice

What did Paul mean when he said to offer your body as a living sacrifice? We choose to lay down our own desires and live to honor and obey.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Most of us want to believe that if we trust our lives to God, He will give us a happy, healthy, comfortable, and trouble-free life. The truth is, Jesus doesn't invite us to a life of comfort and ease, but to a life of sacrifice and surrender.
