Hand Painted Shell with Beach Scene Welcome to my shop! Thanks for stopping by--This large 4" clam shell has been lovingly hand-painted (not decoupaged) with a tropical beach scene. This is a piece of signed original art. This seashell makes a perfect splurge for the beach lover or a unique gift idea! All of my shells for painting are hand-gathered along the Delaware coast where I live. I create all of my art in my home smoke-free studio. The Process of Hand Painting Sea Shells

This is the beginning on my process of hand painting my sea shells to make them into hanging ornaments. I thought you all would like to see just how it's done. This post is the very beginning, I'll update it as I do them. First you'll need shells, these are regular clam shells that I bleached and washed in very hot water. "This 6\" x 6\" scallop shell has been painted in brightly hued alcohol inks and sealed with 2 coats of high quality uv protectant and fixative and 3 coats of clear gloss glaze sealer. Each of my alcohol ink art pieces are unique and there is never two the same due to the nature of the process. Alcohol ink art should be treated as you would any quality painting with gentle cleaning with a damp rag and avoiding direct sunlight.
