www.adamgormley.com.au This extravagant Indian style building, is a former Royal residence located in Brighton, England. Built as a seaside retreat for the Prince Regent in the early 19th century. Later to become King George IV, he was known for his extravagant lifestyle. I think this wonderful building says it all! Shot at early sunset (about 3:30pm), you can still see the last rays hitting the top of the spires.

The Royal Pavillion began life as little more than a' farmhouse' which George, Prince of Wales, rented when he first began to visiting Brighton in 1783. He enjoyed the informal atmosphere of the town and in 1787 he asked Henry Holland to create a classically styled villa on the site, known as the Marine Pavilion. From 1802 the interiors were decorated in the Chinese taste. In 1811 George became Prince Regent and soon after this, between 1815-1822. John Nash enlarged the villa and transformed…
