Groningen is a city in the north of the Netherlands.
Vismarkt
Four days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) there's a vegetable market at the Vismarkt. Vegetables can be found in all the big piles of cardboard boxes, sometimes shopkeepers hand you something too. There are quite some regulars collecting veggies here. Come after 17:00 when the market ends.
Supermarkets
Coop is known to have its dumpsters outside and (mostly) unlocked. Especially Coop on the Paterswoldseweg can be good.
