More fresh faces are joining Bridgerton‘s upcoming fourth season, which has officially begun production, TVLine has learned.
Katie Leung (the Harry Potter franchise, The Peripheral) has been cast as Lady Araminta Gun. “Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off,” reads the character’s official description. “Fabulous, discerning and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.”
Michelle Mao (Goosebumps) and Isabella Wei (The Crow) have also been added. Mao is set to play Rosamund Li, Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession. Described as “beautiful, vain and eager to please her mother, Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict Bridgerton this season and is determined to get what she wants.”
Wei will play Posy Li, Rosamund’s younger sister. “Her mother rarely puts the spotlight on Posy, as her chatty, overly friendly demeanor often has her putting her foot in her mouth.”
Netflix also announced the promotions of Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich) and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), both of whom have been upgraded to series regulars for Season 4.
As previously reported, the new season will follow Benedict Bridgerton as the series’ newest suitor. “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball,” reads the official synopsis.
In other recent casting news, Halo’s Yerin Ha has been tapped to portray Sophie Baek in the new season. In the novel An Offer from a Gentleman, Sophie is the orphaned, illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood forced to work for her intolerable stepmother. She captures Benedict’s heart after first meeting him at the ball.
New episodes of Bridgerton aren’t expected until 2026.

It’s alarming to think of any of the Harry Potter kids being old enough to play characters with children of marriageable age.
But they are now in their mid-late 30s, so it’s not totally implausible (at least in Bridgerton land, where the girls marry in their teens)
I thought the same! Especially since she’s the same age as Nicola Coughlan. But I guess they could make her look/seem older, the same way we’re supposed to believe some of the actors are teens/twenty-somethings when they’re also in their 30s.
Well, there goes the speculation that Cressida’s mother (whose name was revealed to be Araminta as well) would play the stepmother role. I do like it better as an entirely new family, especially as otherwise we likely wouldn’t get Posey (Cressida could have played Rosamund’s role, but she’s already established as being an only child). And hopefully we can get some cool cultural bits like we did with Kate and Edwina’s heritage!
Katie Leung is also a featured player on the BBC’s “Annika.” Does anyone know if that’s been renewed for a new series?
Good question. I have been checking online periodically regarding a season 3 renewal myself, but nothing as far as I can tell.
also appearing bbc’s ‘nightsleeper’
Wait! What? No Bridgerton until 2026….Say it isn’t so.
Apparently 2026 is due to “dubbing” the show in multiple languages? It’s total BS. Release the show in English and the dubbed versions when available. Ridiculous to have 3 years in between an 8 episode series!
