The CW on Thursday became the fourth broadcast network (after CBS, NBC and ABC; Fox punted) to unveil its schedule for the 2023-24 TV season. What does the in-transition, Nexstar-owned netlet have penciled in for fall, and what’s on hold until midseason?
♦ All American, one of two veteran shows picked up thus far by the “new” CW, is set for a fall return, paired with the “saved” AMC castoff 61st Street. Walker, meanwhile, is being held for midseason.
♦ For the first time in a while, The CW will have an all-scripted comedy night, on Tuesdays. God bless acquisitions! [pmc_inline_gallery]
♦ Thursdays will be all-FBoy Island, with a new episode leading out of a rerun. The FGirl Island spinoff will launch at midseason.
♦ A decision on remaining in-limbo series Superman & Lois, Gotham Knights and All American: Homecoming will be made soon (more on that here).
♦ The I AM documentary film franchise, which was launched in 2012 and profiles figures such as Bruce Lee, Chris Farley, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Heath Ledger, will occupy Sunday nights — with The CW producing at least three new installments.

Well at least with other network’s “strike proof” fall schedules the CW’s looks slightly less embarrassing than it would in a normal year. Happy for Walker and All American fans, but I have no reason to tune into this network again. Wish they would just change the name so The CW could keep its legacy in tact
I’m finishing out Riverdale and I’m done with the CW.
I’m not going to bot her watching any of their new programs. They probably won’t stay around anyway.
Yeah, I want to be mad at the CW and not watch them, but I’m very unclear on which if any of CBS series were able to shoot early, so there schedule may change, and I expect FOX to be heavily unscripted aside from animation and maybe 1-2 dramas like The Cleaning Lady. And we know ABC’s plans already and while I don’t mind watching an occasional unscripted show like DWTS or The Voice, I really prefer scripted stuff…. so it looks like I’ll be watching a lot of The CW after all, as well as better-prepared NBC.
*their schedule, not there schedule. Dang auto-correct. In a hurry so apologies for that and any other typos.
Nothing you have been dying to binge, instead of settling for whatever this schedule is?
I work from home. If I start a show during lunch, I’ll want to keep watching it all afternoon and not get anything done haha… so I like to have some weekly options I can watch as I eat. Granted, there will be some weekly streaming stuff too but it’s nice to have some back-ups on the over-the-air DVR I have. It’s also helpful for if the Internet ever goes down for a bit.
Amen
This schedule looks boring except for Monday and Thursday.
I’m waiting on news about Superman and Lois, All American Homecoming, and Gotham Knights..
It’s as if some folks were waiting for this schedule just to be angry at it and finding ìt not worth risking an aneurysm for.
I’m wondering if the FBoy Island encores are of past HBO Max seasons, or if they’ll simply start airing the prior week’s episode ahead of the new one beginning in week two?
If they cancel superman and lois and Gotham nights no reason to watch anything else on the cw.
So it looks like this will be the first time in a long time during the main TV season where I won’t be watching a single series, at least until the mid-season starts. But I guess I should get used to it, since I expect that to be the norm starting around this time next year, given the state of CW right now.
Definitely nothing here worth watching. CW used to be my favorite network with the shows I wanted to watch the most. Now it’s basically eliminating everything good and replacing it with everyday non imaginative crap. It’s as though they’re purposely trying to force the network to shut down by not having anything the majority of people will watch.
Lots of encores. I predict mostly 0.0 in the demo and nothing above 500k live.
Yeah, I fully expect the CW to continue to be last place and bellow Univision and/or Telemundo if they weren’t already this season.
As a Canadian, it’s so weird to see The CW airing two full days of Canadian content.
They’ve been airing Canadian content on full days for years. You’re finding it weird now?
It just weird the Canadian shows are on the fall schedule. They are normally on the summer schedule
It’s a new world order.
I think you mean Nexst world order :P
So the real question is – with Fox punting on their Fall Schedule will this delay your much, much appreciated Fall TV Schedule calendar? The people want (and in some cases need) to know! :) Thanks for all you do!
I believe Family Law season 2 is going to be aired during the Summer.
Also, I noticed there was no mention of Superman or Lois. We’ll have to wait and see if it gets cancelled or picked up somewhere else. I thought I saw somewhere if it got cancelled it could possibly wind up on the new Max streaming.
Due to the pandemic, the fall 2020 schedule was all Canadian and overseas imports. Now the new owners are just going with almost all imports all the time to be cheap.
I mean it’s 2 nights, of imports, 1 new reality night, Sunday they hadn’t been steady in a few seasond they have 2 nights of cw unscripted 4 seasons or mold old, 1 night docuseries, I don’t know if most will notice.
They’ve been airing overseas imports for longer than that. And it’s better to pick up cheaper imports to broaden a reach and make a dividend than to blow hundreds of millions a year on shiny expensive dramas that won’t make any money back unless you license them out to Netflix. Honestly the schedule is as varied as its has been in a long time IMO.
Problem is that by taking Canadian shows to air, which is good for those who might not have seen them. But if you watched them the first time. You are unlikely to watch them again. Not that we count for ratings. Sure this is a better schedule than ABC’s schedule, assuming the strike lasts, and scripted is delayed because CW will have something scripted to show… I don’t think I will be watching CW at all. Until Walker comes back.
Are these new Whose Lines?
I have no interest in any of their new fall schedule so I will not watch. I wish them luck attempting to reinvent themselves by completely alienating 99% of their current audience. It is very ballsy!
Season 12 is the last with this cast so it looks like they’ve held some for fall.
New episodes, but the show is out of production, so it’s the final season.
I’ll watch Superman and Lois if it is renewed. Otherwise nothing here for me.
For Whose Line Is It Anyway–the current new episodes showing are of unused footage from past seasons, So does this mean the totally new material they shot early this year (as per Colin Mochrie’s tweets) are being held until this schedule starts? And then that’s the end of the run with this cast? Confusing.
Three episodes were compilations – the rest so far have been regular episodes.
Nothing on the CW I want you watch anymore.
Yuck!
Lol CW is dead 💀
Sucks that all my CW shows got cancelled, but am loving all the Canadian Shows making their way state side!
Yeah… I’m going to be watching nothing on this channel.
Wow … just wow. In a couple of years the CW has gone from my No. 1 or No. 2-watched TV channel to now my least-watched channel. There is not one … not one … of these shows I’m interested in. I’m still holding out for Superman and Lois and Gotham Knights, but I think Knights has seen its day already. Reading these comments by others it’s clear others share my feelings … as well as my disappointment.
The only show I watch on CW is Superman & Lois. I gave up on both Arrow and The Flash years ago.
Supergirl and Stargirl are finished, so whenever CW ends Superman & Lois, I’m done. Too bad Stargirl was cancelled though.
Same here.
Only show left to watch is Riverdale… I initially gave up on it back in season 4, but my late sister (1989-2019) enjoyed watching it, so I kept watching. Wow The CW is unrecognizable. We had a good run with it, time to move on and watch out for new shows on other networks.
I’m sorry for your loss
Walker is the only reason I go to CW. I will see them in their mid-season.
I loved Walker Independence. Hopefully another streaming service will pick it up. Left us on a cliff hanger!!!
Run The Burbs has already aired two seasons of 12 and 13 episodes in Canada. I wonder if the CW is going to air both seasons this year or air one season in 2022-3 and one in 2023-4.
Superman and Lois is all I watch on CW. That’s it. This upcoming TV season is looking like a real dead zone for me. Good thing I still have a billion hours of recorded stuff to catch up on.
Oh Canada…
Thank you for making shows that American Networks can pick up and broadcast when things get slow in the States…
PLEASE renew Superman & Lois!! (plus Gotham Knights if possible)
We’re not getting Coroner season 4?
S4 already aired on The CW. https://tvline.com/2022/08/23/coroner-renewed-cancelled-season-5-serinda-swan-leaving/
