The Live+Same Day numbers reported in TVLine’s daily-ish ratings column do NOT reflect a television program’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution
Ouch, broadcast tv…
CBS is still doing well. Problem is everyone’s watching on streaming the next day or they’re first waiting to see if a show lasts an entire season before giving it a look. Viewers have been burned so many times. Don’t understand NBC’s thinking though. They were doing much better with Magnum and L&O: UC than Found, Irrational or Brilliant Minds. They also owned half of Magnum and all of UC. Maybe they’ll take UC back from Peacock. Wouldn’t surprise me if they also started showing Poker Face on NBC the way CBS has been airing Yellowstone and Tulsa King.
Magnum was on CBS.
Magnum was on CBS for the first 4 seasons then moved to NBC
It’s Law & Order Organized Crime.
Are these numbers good or bad for Matlock?
The #2-most watched show on a very competitive Thursday? Good, I’d say.
Thank you. Was asking because the demo is low. But then again, it’s low all over and I don’t even know if 18-49 matters as much anymore.
.4 demo isn’t really low these days for broadcast. I remember when that was the norm for CW and the other networks had numbers on the other side of the decimal point.
Those numbers continue for Grey’s, we’ll be saying goodbye at the end of the season.
Without knowing the streaming numbers, we have no clue if the show is doing well or poorly. It on at 10 so probably has a higher proportion of viewers watching on DVRs much later or on Hulu. The networks want to drive people from cable, where they can DVR shows and skip ads, to their streaming platforms, where you pay them directly and you have to pay more to skip ads.
Good numbers for CBS. I miss So Help Me Todd, but glad the new lineup did well.
I haven’t watched anything on CBS or ABC this TV season knowing President Trump is going to take away their broadcast license when he gets back in office. I mean all the CBS shows will go to Paramount+, if he allows that, but where will the ABC shows go? It’s really sad that TV viewers are only going to have 3 networks to choose from in 2025. Blah.
I hope you’re joking, because no President has the power to take away licenses. And the only licenses Trump will be involved with are the ones he’ll be making in the Sing Sing metal shop.
President Trump ? Yeah ..not so fast … I will avoid anything to do with that scumbag
Television networks do not have broadcast licenses, individual stations do.
Thank you for actually replying to me over what I’ve heard and been worried about instead of just downvoting me. I really appreciate it.
It’s a moot point, because that’s not going to happen… but ABC shows would go to Hulu/Disney+
Doctor Odyssey is on life support now. If it keeps falling or dosent grow from hear. It’ll be cancel by end season.
Found looking dead on NBC but it dose amazing on peacock, wonder if it’s only saving grace will be to be renewed and moved to peacock only.
I’m not a cbs fan but congratulations to them because their Thursday night have amazing ratings for this time and age of tv.
ODYSSEY took a tumble because of MATLOCK. Why don’t we wait for the Live+7 before calling time of death, eh?
Live+7 don’t pay the bills, live ratings does.
Commercials still air and you can’t fast-forward through them.
I LOVE Matlock. Love it. It’s so freaking great to see a show where an aging adult woman is sharper than the young adults that tv shows are so often about. I LOVE it. My mom has been gone for three years next month but I KNOW she would have loved this show too.
3 So Help Me Todd Petition Signatures have over 80,000 Total Petition Signatures as of October, 2024. I’ll be releasing my CBS / Todd Documentary soon. Anyone signing my Petition gets an email invitation to a free screening of the Documentary Online Premiere.
OMG @ Grey’s ratings. This is for sure the final season. CBS is killing in on Thursdays!!! Best night of TV.
